The smaller pieces that quietly make a room behave.

Consoles, coffee tables, side tables, nesting tables — the unspoken stagehands of a living room. They sit at the right height, hold the right weight, and never need to be apologised for.

The console table

For a hallway, a sofa back, or under a long mirror.

A Cleariqo console is built between 1,200 and 1,800 mm long, 320 to 380 mm deep, and 800 to 880 mm high — the proportions that work in Malaysian apartments and bungalows. Top in solid wood, marble, travertine, or oxidised brass. Base in seraya, walnut, ash, or a steel-and-timber hybrid.

Drawer fronts can be flush, inset, or fielded; pulls are turned brass or shadow-grooved into the wood. If the console lives in an entryway, we include a recessed tray for keys and a slot in the back for a power cable.

  • Hallway consoles with one shelf, two drawers, or a closed cabinet end.
  • Behind-sofa consoles in a slim 320 mm depth so they sit without crowding.
  • Marble-topped versions in Carrara, statuario or a quietly veined travertine.
  • Companion mirror frames built in the same wood and finish.

A spectrum of small tables

Six pieces, six honest jobs.

i.

Hallway console

Long, slim, with a drawer for keys and a leather-lined tray on top. The piece that decides whether a hallway feels welcoming or storage-focused.

ii.

Coffee table

Long, low, generously underslung. Either a single slab top on hand-cut bridle joints, or a hybrid steel-and-wood frame with a marble top.

iii.

Side tables

Built in pairs, or as a near-pair (one a touch wider for the side closest to the chair arm). Solid wood, marble, brass-tipped legs.

iv.

Nesting tables

A set of two or three tables that slide together when the room is quiet and apart when the room is full. The Malaysian living-room hero.

v.

Sofa-end table

A tall, narrow table designed to slip over the arm of a sofa — for the laptop, the cup of tea, the book. Easy to relocate.

vi.

Reading lamp table

A round-top side table with a back rail to catch the lamp cable. Designed for the chair you actually read in.

A few things worth knowing

How marble and wood live in a Kuala Lumpur living room.

Marble wants a sealer

Carrara and statuario are porous. We seal every stone top with a quiet impregnator and hand you the bottle, so you can re-seal it once every two years.

Wood wants a cloth, not a spray

A hardwax oiled top is happiest cleaned with a dry microfibre and the occasional damp cloth. We give you a small jar of touch-up wax with every piece.

Felt and brass beat the parquet

Every leg is faced with felt or brushed brass so your floor stays uncomplaining when the table is shifted across the room.

Begin with one piece

A single console or a matched pair of side tables — both quick to draw, both easy to begin with.

Send a photograph of the room, the wood you are drawn to, and the size that would feel right. We will return drawings, a sample block, and a price within ten working days.
