Beds drawn for the room you sleep in, not the photograph you saw.

A bed frame is asked to do one quiet job for thirty years: hold your mattress at the right height, sit at the right scale to the wall behind it, and never wake you with a creak. We make the kind of frame that does exactly that.

The frame, the slats, the headboard

Solid hardwood rails, oak slats, and a headboard chosen as carefully as a sofa.

A Cleariqo bed frame is built around four mortise-and-tenoned rails, fastened with hidden brass bed-bolts so it can be disassembled for delivery and reassembly. Slats are oak, set on a hardwood ledger that runs the full length — not on plastic clips.

Headboards are detailed in the drawing stage: panelled, upholstered in linen or leather, caned, or a hybrid of two. The headboard either grows down to the floor as a single backdrop, or sits as a defined panel at mattress height, depending on the room.

  • Single, super-single, queen, king, super-king, and made-to-measure widths.
  • Headboard heights from 900 mm above mattress to full-wall.
  • Optional under-bed drawers in seasoned hardwood, soft-close.
  • Companion bedside tables, blanket boxes and dressing benches as a suite.

Four bed-frame shapes we keep returning to

Different rooms, different bedrooms, the same quiet engineering.

A.

The canopy four-poster

Slender hardwood posts at the corners, optional crossbar at the top. Looks heavy on paper, lives weightlessly in the room. Drape it or leave it bare.

B.

The panelled platform

Floor-touching frame, deep panelled headboard, optional under-bed drawers. The quietest sleeper in our roster — the bed disappears beneath the bedding.

C.

The upholstered island

Linen-wrapped headboard rising to the cornice, hardwood frame beneath. Generous and soft — built for clients who read in bed.

D.

The caned headboard

Hand-caned panel set in a hardwood frame, low and breathable. Beautiful in a tropical bedroom that wants to feel airy rather than padded.

Bedside, blanket, dressing

The suite pieces that make a bedroom finished.

Bedside tables

Drawn from the same wood as the bed. Two drawers, soft-close, with a small reading-lamp ledge and a back rail to catch the cable.

Blanket box at the foot

A solid hardwood blanket box sized to the foot of the bed — pegged corners, soft-close hinges, drop-in cedar tray for the bedding off-season.

Dressing bench

An optional low bench to one side of the bed, upholstered in linen or leather, useful for sitting to fasten shoes. The piece every guest underestimates.
